How to make a Pay it Forward Advent Calendar from Craft it Up Christmas ...

We love a chocolate Advent calendar as much as the next person. But we were thinking, wouldn't it be good to give something back in the days leading up to Christmas, instead of taking? The divine Jen at CICO books has made a fabulous You Tube tutorial so you can make one just in time for the 1st of December!

Warrior princess dolly peg

Here at Craft It Up HQ we love a fairy doll as much as the next gal. But we also love strong, wise warrior dolls too! Let your girls role play with girl power with these wise warrior dolly pegs! Smaller girls could skip the paper altogether and just paint clothes on! This project was part of the shoot we did with the wonderful Tickle The Imagination Magazine.

Happy 4th of July loom band bunting

Left it a bit late to make awesome decorations for your 4th of July party? Don't panic! This bunting looks amazing and requires almost no skill! Win!

We used up a bundle of fabric scraps from old projects. If you don't have fabric scraps lying around you can pick up small amounts of cotton fabric cheaply at fabric stores. Check remnant bins for offcuts too.

We've used loom bands because they seem to cover every surface around here at the moment. Of course you can use regular rubber/elastic bands or even tie the fabric scraps on.

Happy 4th!

Crufts gorgeous golden broach

This week we're in the UK, which is home of the famous Crufts Dog Show! We're missing our golden retriever Scout, so we've made a little golden retriever broach.

We're not sure if she'd win any obedience awards at Crufts but she's certainly the best dog in the world to us!

This broach can be made in any shape and with any pet. Just make 2 copies of the photo or picture and use one for the basic shape and one for the features.

ooooooooooh!...not so spooky Halloween Wreath

If you like your Halloween to be more about cute pumpkins and friendly witches and less about dripping blood and severed hands, then this craft project is for you!

The best bit is that kids of all ages can cut out the felt circles. And because you're stacking them together they can be cut out fairly slap dash and it'll still look amazing!

This project uses a lot of felt, so it can be pricey. You could try using any fabric scraps for more texture, or even circles of paper and card.
