Ombre pinecones for Fall

How cool that my 2 favourite seasons happen simultaneously on opposite sides of the world. That means I can work on both Spring and Fall craft projects! This Ombre pinecone project is a quick and satisfying Fall project. You could do a bowl of ombre pinecones for a stunning centrepiece, scatter them down the middle of a table or hang them up on matching strands of beads.

Simple no-sew bunting

We made this paper bunting for a magazine shoot. We wanted whimsical and pretty with a vintage feel. We've added some glamour with silver paper circles and pops of colour with the turquoise glittery tape. It looked so lovely hanging from the trees, but it looks equally lovely hanging on the wall. This bunting is so light that you can hang it on the wall with washi tape, so it's perfect if you're renting or if you don't want hundreds of holes in your walls!

We went for a random pattern because that's just the way we roll. We haven't included numbers or measurements because you can just carry on punching circles until you get the length you need or your paper runs out! If you're hanging the bunting outside, allow a metre of twine at each end to tie around the tree branches.

Reader craft: Estonia. Stack It Up Christmas Trees

I love it when readers send in photos of the craft they have done from the books! It's especially exciting when it's from the new book. These button trees were made by 2 lovely boys in England. Love your work boys!

Rainy day craft box

It's always awesome to have a craft box stuffed full of crafty essentials. I've compiled a list of things I like to have on hand for any craft emergency :-)

Here in Sydney we're looking at a solid week of rain, so having some indoor craft activities lined up could be a life saver.

If your kids have started back at school this week after the summer break, maybe a little craft activity could help them unwind and relax after a busy day.

Happy Publication Day Craft It Up Christmas!

Hey Happy Publication Day! Craft It Up Christmas is now officially here. Whoop whoop!

I know it's a little early for Christmas but over the next few months I'll give you little prods! Because as well as making a beautiful Christmas gift it would make an even more awesome pre-Christmas gift to someone else...or for you and your family! You can get a head start on some lovely Christmas crafting. Or planning craft group Christmas nights. Or Christmas decoration swaps.

I can see it rolled up in a stocking too. So maybe tip off Santa now?

Craft It Up Around The World and Craft It Up Christmas Around The World by Abadee and Armstrong are available from all good bookstores, online and also from our publisher.

Button flowers

These simple button flowers first made an appearance on the blog a year ago, and are still one of our most visited posts! They looks so beautiful but are brilliantly easy and cheap to make. Win, win!

Northern lights party invites

Party invites can be super expensive to buy so if you've got some sweet little rubber stamps at home, you can save a fortune. These cards would also make good birthday cards. You could use blues and greens if you had floral stamps, dinosaurs or a beach theme.
