Thanks for a great year...Merry Christmas!

We've had such a great 2013 and we are so grateful to Ryland, Peters and Small, specifically CICO books for picking up our first craft book!

We so grateful too, to all of you for supporting us this year by visiting us here, or on Instagram or Facebook, or by buying our book! You rock!

Huge thanks and we hope you have a wonderful break. We'll see you in 2014 with a brand spanking new book!

Our book makes an excellent Christmas gift!

Need a last minute Christmas present? Forgotten a friend? Santa needs a helping hand?

In the UK?

Worldwide?

Book Depository delivers free worldwide but we’re not sure if they’ll guarantee Christmas delivery. Think of it as a New Year surprise!

Tiny table top tree

Here at Craft It Up! we know just how it feels to be a little overstretched in the run up to Christmas. Between us we have 8 kids, 2 dogs and a brand new book just about to reach deadline!

So whilst we may not have quite tackled the Christmas card list yet (New Years cards ok this year?) we have managed to make you a festive craft that'll take you moments to create.

Our tiny table top tree would look beautiful on a mantelpiece or as a centrepiece. Imagine several in different sized glasses running down the centre of your Christmas Day table!

Readers Pics: Christmas wreath

Full disclosure here...Libby's daughter made this gorgeous wreath using our Halloween tutorial and adapting it using Christmas colours.

We're including it to show you that our crafts are can be simple and forgiving! She did this craft alone (she's 6!) and cut out every circle and made each hole. Because you thread the circles onto the coat hanger, you can really hack away at the felt and still end up with a gorgeous effect.

We think her teacher is going to enjoy hanging it in her home this Christmas!

Reader pics: Netherlands and Finland

We love seeing what you've made from our book Craft It Up Around The World!

This week we were excited to get an email from Zac and Oscar in England. Oscar has done a great job with our Netherlands flower project. He used paper instead of felt to make the flowers and leaves and the colours are vibrant and beautiful! And how cute are Zac and Oscar's little 'Saving For a Snowy Day' money boxes? Loving that rainbow ribbon and their sweet little faces!

Keep them coming boys!

Give thanks! Thanksgiving jar

This year we are grateful for so many things! For our families and friends...and for a new book contract! You'll be seeing even more of us in 2014!

Even though Thanksgiving isn't a holiday here in Australia, we think it's a good time to join our American friends and think about what we are thankful for! This project should come together fairly quickly and all of the components are flexible. Use what you can find! The head doesn't have to be a ball, you could use a piece of card instead. And if you don't have a glass jar for your notes, you could swap it for an ice cream tub or bowl. If you want a quicker project you can use a hot glue gun instead of waiting for the PVA to dry.

Thank YOU for visiting! We're thankful for you!

Spooooky sweets

These little Halloween ghosties are quick and cheap to make. You've probably got the materials in your kitchen cupboards right now! Instead of holding out a bowl of treats this Thursday night, why not make some of these treat filled ghosts instead?

ooooooooooh!...not so spooky Halloween Wreath

If you like your Halloween to be more about cute pumpkins and friendly witches and less about dripping blood and severed hands, then this craft project is for you!

The best bit is that kids of all ages can cut out the felt circles. And because you're stacking them together they can be cut out fairly slap dash and it'll still look amazing!

This project uses a lot of felt, so it can be pricey. You could try using any fabric scraps for more texture, or even circles of paper and card.

Here in Sydney our kids have just gone back to school after a 2 week break.

If, like ours, your kids are a whole lot happier with sweet treats at the end of the day, then why not whip up a plate?

We made a batch of these gorgeous rainbow cookies to welcome the kids back from school. The verdict? 10 out of 10!

Put a Spring in your step!

We made these cute shoes in a matter of minutes. Acrylic paint is widely available, inexpensive and very quick drying. If you like your craft projects quick, easy and pretty, then this is for you!

We've done a little daisy chain but you could do any design. Maybe a chevron design on a teenagers canvas slip-ons or some skulls?
