Cupcake case rosette tutorial
At Craft It Up we've been putting together a display for Buttercreme Lane to show off one of their beautiful cakes. http://buttercremelane.com.au/
We thought it was fitting to use cupcake cases in our 1st place rosette for a cupcake designer!
You could make a rosette for any occasion...why not tell Dad he's 'Number 1' on Fathers Day, or wish someone a Happy Birthday? We've gone with the same colour but you could experiment with mixing it up a bit. You could glue your rosette to an old badge or a broach back (available from craft stores) so that your rosette can be worn all day long!

Craft it Up Celebration Cascarones!
We're celebrating the release of our book in Australia with this gorgeous cascarone tutorial. Cascarones are a Latin American tradition of filling hollowed out, painted eggs with confetti and then smashing them on peoples heads. We think this is such an awesome idea, and that it would be a great way to celebrate! Eggshells can be brittle, so be careful making the hole in the top. Little kids should get help at this point. You could experiment with filling the eggs with different things like sequins, glitter or coloured rice and you could stick stickers on the shell too.

Sydney book stockists
Brilliant to be able to support bricks and mortar bookstores! We'll post the other Aussie states as soon as we have them. In the US the book is available from Barnes and Noble, amongst others.
If you're buying from a bookstore anywhere in the world and they don't carry it...ask them to order it in for you!

Reader craft pics: Sweden's 'Deck The Halls' Magazine Tree
When we started thinking about writing this book, we were really keen to include beautiful yet functional things. This magazine tree has a triple purpose here: it recycles a What's On magazine, it can be used as a beautiful Christmas table decoration...and most importantly...it's part of a heroic Lego police rescue! Brilliant job William! Thanks for sending it!
